Lean Longhorn Burger Wraps with Apple-Celery Slaw
“The taste was unbelievable- they were so flavorful! Longhorn beef is super lean- it’s important to be aware of this so you don’t overcook it. Not only is Longhorn lower in fat, but that means it’s also lower in cholesterol” – Recipe by Rebecca Lilly (@xxrlilly)
Prep Time: 30 minutes
Makes: 4 burgers
For The Burgers:
1 teaspoon Garlic and Thyme Signature Salt
1 pound Lean Longhorn Ground Beef
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
3 teaspoons ghee
1 head butter leaf lettuce, leaves pulled apart
For The Slaw:
1 stalk celery, thinly sliced
1/2 tart apple, thinly sliced
1/2 bunch mint, rinsed and minced
1/2 lemon, juiced
1/4 c olive oil
Salt and pepper
Gently mix Garlic and Thyme Signature Salt, salt, pepper, and beef in a bowl until seasoning is incorporated (be careful not to overmix). Form into four even patties with a small indent in the center. Fill with 1/2 teaspoon ghee and form meat over the ghee to enclose.
Allow burgers to rest and preheat a grill pan or grill. Make slaw: toss celery, apple, mint, lemon, olive oil, and salt and pepper in a small bowl.
Brush grates with remaining ghee and sear burgers to desired doneness, flipping halfway through (recommended 4 minutes per side). Set burger patties into lettuce cups and top with desired amount of slaw. Enjoy!
